Card for 9/12

Six of Cups (past efforts bear fruit in the present)
Hmm, I get different interpretations for this card from different sources.
One source says I may be living too much in my past and not focusing enough on what is yet to come. Alternatively I may reap the rewards of the hard work I have done. So who even knows.
I think this card would be easier to interpret as part of a reading as opposed to this single card draw.
Right now, I'm not all that thrilled with doing this journal like this and I'm not all that into this deck.
I have another book that fiocuses on the court cards that has some ecercises in it so I'm going to start adding that material here too.

Card for 9/11

Seven of Pentacles (a difficult decision, patience, commitment)
This card is representing a choice that as to be made and certain decisions that need to be taken. It's time to take stock.
The message of this card is "don't give up"
I guess for me today is to not give up on school (as if I would at this point). I feel like my life is not very well rounded out at the moment so I'm taking steps to remedy that.

Card for 9/10

4 of cups (discontent, dissatisfaction, boredom)
This card suggests that we are too preoccupied to appreciate the good things around us and it makes perfect sense because I have been sick in bed all day.
One of the messages of this card is that there is a chance for emotional growth but you need to be willing to move forward and not remain entrenched in a outworn pattern of thinking.

Card for 9/9
9/9/09 is supposed to be a lucky day and I pulled the 8 of Pentacles (discovery of new talent, development of skills), a card associated with the eighth sephira, Hod.This card is pertaining to satisfaction from the work we do and a sense of progress in our career. It suggests that you can put you talents to good use. You have a thirst for knowledge and are prepared to work hard to secure a solid foundation for the next phase in your life.
It's a card of finding a way to be content in this world, to enjoy our work and to do it willingly and happily.

Card for 9/7

9 of Swords (anxiety, despair, negative thoughts)
This card suggests the feeling of being overwhelmed by doubts that don't have any bearing on reality.
Negative thinking is exacerbating the situation. Sound like a good time to put some cognitive behavioral therapy to use!
Note that the swords are not touching the person physically and also look at the astrological symbols on the blanket. This can mean that this is more of a global feeling than just a personal one.
For me today, I'm just not into today so I haven't accomplished anything at all really.

Card for 9/6

Hello today's draw is the Page of Pentacles (improved finances, promotion, advancement).
I think the key words pretty much sum up what the card means. I like this.
It does suggest that hard work and patience will be necessary in order to bring about success out of this opportunity.
The card also promises long-term rewards in finances, resources and status if you are open to good advice.
When I get cards like these on days like today (Sunday) when I can't do much in the way of setting up appointments with people I need to meet with, I wonder how much of an effect this really has on me today or is it a lasting influence...

Something different today. Knight of Swords (dramatic change, new perspectives, upheaval)
This card is suggests that we are entering a mind-expanding time when our lives change suddenly and our everyday pattern is disrupted.
Sometimes this card indicates conflict but he suggests that you will win. I like to win.
Again, I'm not sure how this is relating to me, maybe it means I have a chance to win my battle of getting financial aid for school...

Card for 9/3

4 of wands (joy, celebration after hard work)
4 is a number of stability, Jupiter and the sephirot Chesed. It suggests that there is stability and can relax and take it easy for awhile. It also suggests that a plateau has been reached and that the rest will prepare you for the climb ahead.
The card shows an outdoor canopy to be used in a celebration and 2 people underneath arms raised holding with fruits and vegetables from the earth.
It seems odd to have drawn this card, the third day in a row of wands. I have alot of work to do by next week in order to get funding for school so I don't see the part where I'm getting to relax. Not yet anyway...

Card for 9/2

This morning I drew the Three of Wands (optimism, virtue).
Here is a guy standing on a bank overlooking a river that has 3 boats in it. This card symbolizes new possibilities. Especially ones that you might not have been aware of.
You feel satisfied with what you have achieved so far and confident and excited about the path ahead.
I'm not sure how this applies to me specifically today but this is the 2nd day in a row that I've pulled a wand. Either I need to shuffle my deck better or the universe is trying to tell me something...

Card for 9/1

Today's card is the 10 of Wands (oppression).
This is a man oppressed by the wands he's carrying down to the 10th sepfirah, Malchut. Wands relate to fire which could be interpreted as inspiration.
This guy has so much inspiration, its overwhelming him!
What I got from the book I'm reading is that it looks more like he's holding them down like helium balloons. Just look at his body language.
I know that I'm leaving a lot of information out but I tend to do that because I can always come back and edit this later :)
How this card relates to me today is that I have a ton of projects that I want to do right now but there are so many that I just don't want to do anything!
Reading the book
So far the book is ok except for the fact that it uses the Universal Waite deck. I have the Rider-Waite Deck. It was probably my first deck. Its an ok deck except that the images don't appeal to me very much.
I suppose that I could just use my Waite deck just for the purpose of going through this book but I'm definitely going to use my other decks for other stuff here.
I think I'll post some different spreads and whatnot.
On good thing about this book is that it reaffirms my own practice of not worrying about putting my decks in black silk or other "special" stuff. Tarot cards are pieces of cardstock with images printed on them. Its a personal choice of how people want to keep them.
Most of my decks are in the boxes they came in because I know that the magick is in me, not the deck.

Beginning
I have been collecting tarot decks and playing around with tarot since I was a teenager but never got all that serious about it.
Now that I have a big break from school, I have decided to get a little more serious about my study of the tarot.
I've just started reading Tarot and the Tree of Life - Finding Everyday Wisdom in the Minor Arcana by Isabel Radow Kliegman.
My plan with this journal is to document my progress in my study of tarot and maybe some other subjects if they come up.
